The calendering process requires precise rheological and thermal control to transform plasticized or rigid PVC into continuous films and foils of uniform thickness. During processing through high-precision roll stacks, compounds undergo intense shear stress and prolonged heat exposure, making specialized additive systems essential for proper lubricity and degradation prevention in manufacturing calendered sheets.

In film and foil production, selecting the right IKA thermal stabilizer directly determines clarity, initial color retention, and resistance to plate-out (deposits on calender rolls). Our solid Calcium-Zinc (Ca/Zn) and Calcium-Organic systems are engineered to ensure smooth release from roll surfaces, preventing sticking and delivering a homogeneous finish on high-performance calendered sheets.
